Support maternal and newborn health

Infographic depicting a decrease in maternal deaths from 443,000 in 2000 to 260,000 in 2023, highlighting improved access to healthcare. Includes a woman holding a baby and the World Health Organization logo.

Every 7 seconds, a mother or newborn dies—needlessly.

Despite making progress by reducing maternal deaths by 40% between 2020 & 2023, too many mothers give birth without skilled support. Clinics run without basic supplies. Babies miss life-saving vaccines. And women need access to choices so they can protect their health and futures. We continue to see ongoing needs that require support:

  • 1 in 3 women suffer long-term complications after birth

  • Over 2 million babies die in their first month of life

  • 4 in 5 countries are set to miss global maternal survival targets by 2030

  • 22 million children missed their first measles vaccine last year

You can change that.

We don’t lack the solutions. We just need to deliver them—boldly, equitably, and urgently.
